🧠 Brain Drain Patch + Shipping Update

Hi all! Just want to give a quick update :)

• I've been working with Glass Embroidery to get a really nice clean patch design, and I love where we ended up...check the pic below!
• Module edits are moving right along and are nearing completion. There's going to be an extra 4 pages devoted to psionics, bringing the total page count up to 32.
• Mixer app development is ongoing, with all the core features complete. Now I'm working on the additional lore and tables while Galen works out some bugs and operating system gotchas.
• KEMC has made great progress on the shirt design, but I'll save pics for a later update when it's closer to completion!
• And very excited to announce we're partnering with Peregrine Coast Press for most fulfillment outside the US. This means lower costs and less hassle for many of you 😌

Shipping Cost Estimates (These may change a little bit between now and fulfillment, but this should give you an idea of what to expect!):

•  USA: $5 for mailers (zines + patches), $10 for boxes (zines + patches + shirts)
•  UK: £3 for mailers (zines + patches), £5 for boxes (zines + patches + shirts)
•  Germany, France, Ireland, Portugal, The Netherlands, Cyprus, Malta, Austria: 20% of package value, Delivered Duty Paid -- customs charges, etc. are paid before it gets to you!
•  EU (non-DDP): €5.5 for mailers (zines + patches), €7.5 for boxes (zines + patches + shirts)
•  Rest of World: $7.5 for mailers (zines + patches), $11.5 for boxes (zines + patches + shirts)

Note: Packages shipped through Peregrine Coast Press may have an additional small fee to cover our delivery costs to their warehouse.

🎶 Soundtrack Preview + Update

Hi all! Just wanted to give you a quick update:

•  Module revisions are well underway, and it's looking like the book is getting an extra 4 pages to give the psionics stuff the space it needs. Pretty much everything else is updated to 1E, getting playtested, and undergoing minor edits.
•  Patch design is nearly complete, I'm working with Glass Embroidery to figure out the details, which I hope to share soon!
•  KEMC has some wonderful initial designs for the Shirt. She's wrapping up some other work at the moment and will be ahead full on the design soon! ALSO she just put out ONEIRIC STRATA, an art book with Cold Cube Press -- I got mine not long ago and it's gorgeous! (Also the pages are perforated so you can pull the prints out and hang them up if you like!) I highly recommend grabbing a copy while they're still available.
•  Galen is doing some amazing work on both the Soundtrack and the Mixer Apps! I'm mostly providing creative direction and writing the additional lore and tables for the app. I think you're all going to be quite pleased :)

Thank you all so much for your support. The success of this campaign means that Warped Beyond Recognition will get to finally see print (with a much bigger run than I first anticipated!), but it also means more than that: it means I get to work with some people I truly admire to design and create finely-crafted objects we can all cherish. It means I get to pay those contributors more. It means that we can make music and tools that I've wanted to have at my table for a while now.

And, as someone who generally eschews the spotlight, it also means recognition. Recognition for the work I've put into this project and my RPG design writing at TRAAA.SH, and generally for my efforts as a creative creature. So often we create in the shadows, not knowing who even cares about the things we make, and getting any kind of recognition or support is often profoundly encouraging. So to celebrate the success of this campaign, I'd like to ask one more favor: join me in thinking of someone who makes things that inspire you, move you, or just make you smile, and tell them how much you appreciate what they do. It'll mean the world to them.

I'll be continuing to post updates here over the months until we go to print and ship this summer. We'll be using BackerKit for surveys, shipping, etc. In the meantime, I'll continue my sporadic posting on the blog, and you can also follow along as I do Sean McCoy's #dungeon23 megadungeon-room-a-day challenge all year long on twitter, mastodon, and instagram!

🫠 Stretch Goal Completed: $20k (1000% funded) — Versatile Mixer App

The last stretch goal is cleared! You're all getting the versatile desktop mixer app that you can load your own map images and audio files into! Galen and I are really excited to build this thing past the prototype stage, and I'll be posting periodic updates here as development progresses. 

I hope to have this out in your hands around the same time as everything else this summer :) Thanks so much for making this a reality, everyone.

Pleased to announce that Warped Beyond Recognition has been selected by Kickstarter as a "Project We Love"! Thanks so much to all of you for your support and helping to make this happen 🫠 

Also happy to mention that we've hit a few more milestones: over 600 backers AND over 950% funded! Getting very close to that final stretch goal! The project also has only 3 days remaining — we're nearing the finish line 😌
